Aldrin: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get my old Buzzmachines to work?

Buzzmachines are not supported on any other than the Win32 platform. On Win32, we support a wrapper that accurately loads and executes Buzz machines. Put the machines you wish to use into the lib/zzub/buzz subfolder relative to the program folder and restart Aldrin.

Please be aware that modules created with (closed source) Buzzmachines will not play on alternative and future hardware or operating system platforms. In a few years, new operating systems, protection mechanisms and processor platforms will be popular, and it might not be possible to load any of the old machines without a lot of effort.

Why is the count of plugins so small?

It is a longtime goal to have exactly one plugin per task, and thus allow versatility and yet portability of modules (songs) across various platforms. Over time, a plugin will acquire new parameters and functions, rather than a new plugin being written.
