Render pattern

Reported by: user Owned by: somebody
Priority: minor Milestone: Buzé Release 0.4 - 0.5
Component: buze Version:
Keywords: pattern render Cc:

Description

I havent found how to do it of anyone asking for it here, so here it goes:

how about a "render this pattern" to wavetable or file feature on pattern view?

I often need that when i want to make loops to use in other software. In buzz i used to use cyan's recorder and saved the wave from wavetable. As in buze we still cant save waves from wavetable, it's a pain to make loops to use in other programs.

temporary solution:

# use a clean area of SequenceView?
# put the pattern into it, set the sequence loop points around it
# go to MachineView?
# rightclick the machine where you would like to record the signal from
~ (f.ex if it's Mtrk->ch.amp->funkyverb->panzerdelay->master, then rightclick danzerdelay )
# choose, Render Output -> To File

if calvin doesnt get around to this, then ill give a shot at adding it.. and create a keyboard short cut to trigger a Render Output popup menu, that would operate from the current pattern, regardless of the sequence looppoints.

I did that and it worked almost perfectly. The almost is there because it only worked when i used the beggining of the track to do it and not any clean area of sequence view.

another thing, If you try to do the "render pattern thing" would it render the pattern from the tracker or from the end of the chain? the last machine, in the example panzer delay?

and if you ever do it, i love you.
