Please Help Us!

The libzzub project is going pretty well along with things. We have two working applications and a complete playing and editing library at our hands, and all this is open source, cross platform and free - so the community gets the most out of it.

We are doing this without any funding. It is a free time project, and thus our scope of actions is restricted.

If you like what we are doing and you wish to contribute in some way, there are several things we are struggling with, and where we believe you could help us:

Buzz Machine Source Code

Although libzzub supports loading Buzzmachine binaries on Windows, we would like to be able to supply a standard set of machines to any platform - (x86, PPC, RISC, a multitude of operating systems), and also keep our interfaces and source code updated. To play songs correctly, libzzub is at the moment in great parts dependent on proprietary binaries, and this is dangerous to the project. Joachim Michaelis has already donated a few machine sources to us, but we need much much more.

If you are a regular user, we ask you to contact the developers of your favorite machines and point them to this site - or let others know that this site exists. Have a look at this buzzchurch forum entry, too.

If you are a machine developer, we ask you to donate a free licence to your sources to the community. You need to tag your source code with the GPL licence as described here. In return, you will be mentioned in the credits and about dialogs. Your rights will remain protected. Send your tagged source code to Leonard Ritter <contact At leonard-ritter+com>.

MacOS X (Power PC) Support

Nobody of us has access to a MacOS X Power PC machine, and hence it is impossible to get libzzub and Aldrin to work on this platform. We would be incredibly happy about someone donating - either a Mac - or - money to buy a Mac. If you would like to help in this regard, please contact Anders Ervik <calvin at countzero+no>.
